We left of at thanksgiving, the 13th of october. Like I mentioned in the blog before we went to Lynden. A 'Dutch' city in the USA. It was a really cute town in the middle of nowhere. But it wasn't more Dutch then Volendam, definilty not. But there were a lot of nice Dutch aspects, like a windmill and a Dutch store and restaurant. I ate croquettes! They tasted just like the Dutch ones, and we met of course some people who where originaly from the Netherlands, even someone from Friesland. After the nice lunch we drove back to Vancouver. I relaxed a bit in the afternoon and met up again with my parents at Cloud 9 for a Thanksgivingdinner. It tasted really good and we had an amazing view of the skyline of Vancouver (since we sad on top of an big building with a turning floor).
The next day I tried to study a lot, since Hidde, Siebe (my little brother) and the parents of Hidde would arrive tomorrow! In the evening I ate with Erika and Grete. It was fun!
The next day, wednesday the 15th, I drove of with my parents after my lectures to the airport to pick everyone up!I was very glad to see everyone, especially Hidde of course! In the afternoon we took a tour around campus and we ate in the evening again at Burgoo.
The next day Hidde left off with his parents to Seatle and I studied the whole day for my midterm on Friday.
Friday I went shopping with my parents and Siebe after my midterm. I got new shoes! (again, but these are really good for walking xP)
Saturday I studied again for my other midterm and in the evening we ate together with everyone at the hotel. It was a challenge but we had a great dinner! Hidde and I got a room at the hotel as well, so the whole family would be close to each other.
On Sunday Hidde and I had the day for ourself. First we walked to Stanley Park. We walked around the lake and to the rowing club, where we could take a small peek. The weather was really nice that day! After the walk we went to the aquarium and then shopping at Robson street. We had a good lunch at a korean restaurant and we had dinner at Granville Island. I had a crab that was caught the same day. I had so much fun with Hidde that day! It was really nice to spend a whole day together again.
Monday I had to go to my lectures again and I studied again. The others went Capilano park. In the evening we ate together again.
Tuesday we wanted to go Whale watching, but there was to much wind. Instead we walked across the seawall/ False Creek to the Science park and the Olympic village. There we had a small lunch. We walked back across the Burrard Street to Yaletown. There we searched for a Coastal People Fine Art gallery, what we found. It was really beautiful. We ate again a small lunch and walked to a look out point where we got some coffee and enjoyed the view. In the evening we ate at a great Greek restaurant.
Wednesday was the day that Hidde had to go home. :( Time went so fast! Hidde and I went out for breakfast at a place nearby. It was really good and enjoyable. After the breakfast we went to the airport. There we had a coffee and carrot cake. After that it was time to say goodbye. I'm going to miss him so badly! Luckily there is skype! His parents flew to a friend of theirs.
In the afternoon I went to Richmond with my family. In the evening I had to study again for my midterm the next morning.
Thursday the 23th I made my midterm and I had to go to the physio. I got some good exercises which I do everyday now. In the evening I ate at the Greek again with my parents and Siebe.
On Friday we finally went Whale watching with Siebe, my parents and Hidde's parents. We saw to Humbbacks, seals, seadogs, bald eagles and orca's (hunting!). It was amazing to see!
On Saturday the rest went home. After saying goodbye at the airport I studied again and relaxed a bit.
Sunday again studying, started on my paper and I had dinner with my roommates.
Monday I had lectures and started to learn for my midterm.
Tuesday I had a small research for extra points. It was really boring! I had the estimate an amount of number that flashed really fast on the screen. But it almost seemed impossible to do so. Another task was also way to fast to make sense. In the evening I went out for dinner with Asuko and Lily again at Burgoo. We had a good dinner and it was nice to catch up again.
This morning I skyped with Hidde and finished my paper. Tonight I'm having dinner with my roommates and we are going to discuss about our trip we want to make when the finals are over.
This weekend is Halloween and will I go to Whistler. I'm looking forward!
